Welcome to Hattenburn Gardens
Your hosts are Anna-Marie Kingsley and
Malcolm Batchelor. The gardens to wander
through consist of 6 acres of native plantings, extensive vegetable gardens,
and a large developing food forest area. Interspersed with sculptures and
artworks the gardens are an eclectic visual feast. Over one hundred information panels explain
various garden systems and techniques used for propagation.
The gardens are six kilometers west of
Carterton nestled in the Tararua foothills at 99 Hinau Gully Road, Carterton. Parking is available on the roadside, or if
mobility is an issue you are welcome to park down by the house. Dogs are
welcome but must be kept on a leash at all times. Due to water hazards children must be kept
within arms reach at all times.
We are open 7 days a week, 365 days a year
including public holidays, dawn to dusk.
$7 a person, payable at the roadside produce stall at the front gates or
via internet banking – information on the produce stall.
